Neuropharmacology, addiction and behaviour

The research constellation comprises research groups with specific lines of research within neuroscience and pharmacology. Principal investigators are Ingrid Nylander (Neuropharmacology and Addiction) and Erika Roman (Behavioural Neuroscience). Projects within the research groups include basic neurobiology, genetics, epigenetics, neuropharmacology and behavioural neuroscience. Overall, studies focus on pharmacological, physiological and pathophysiological mechanisms in the brain of relevance for susceptibility and effects of addictive behaviour, and for development and treatment of substance use disorders, schizophrenia, pain and neurodegenerative diseases. In addition, many projects involve development of techniques and experimental models for use in neuroscience.
