Beskrivning
Utformning och tillverkning av samt egenskaper hos läkemedelsberedningar
Inom forskningsområdet farmaceutisk fysik studeras utformning och tillverkning av samt egenskaper hos läkemedelsberedningar. Ett övergripande tema för denna forskning är att klarlägga hur råmaterial, utformning och tillverkning påverkar funktionsegenskaperna och kvaliteten hos läkemedelsberedningar. Arbetet är huvudsakligen inriktat mot beredningar avsedda för tillförsel av läkemedel till lunga och via munnen.
Forskargruppens verksamhet har i nuläget två huvudinriktningar: (1) experimentella och teoretiska studier av beteendet hos pulverformiga material (pulvermekanik) samt (2) experiment och modellering av tillförsel, upplösning och frisättning av läkemedel, huvudsakligen till lunga.
Ett genomgående tema för gruppens verksamhet inom pulvermekanik är utveckling av nya metoder för att simulera beteendet hos pulverformiga material, i synnerhet då dessa utsätts för relativt höga pålagda tryck som under tillverkning av tabletter.
Forskargruppsledaren (Göran Frenning) leder ett arbetspaket i kompetenscentrumet SweDeliver ägnat åt läkemedelstillförsel till lunga. En stor del av gruppens verksamhet sker därför inom ramen för SweDeliver. Mer information om detta och de ingående projekten finns här.
